India is the land of the hoary Vedas. The glory of Bharat that is India rests solely on the foundation of its Sanatana Dharam, Sanskruti and Sanskrit the seeds of which lie in the Holy Vedas. The all encompassing eternal doctrines of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and ‘Ahimsa Paramo Dharmah’ are the greatest gifts to the world from the Vedas. The need to adhere to these doctrines in this strife-ridden and violent society that seems to be disintegrating is all the more relevant. Apart from this the Vedas, as modern science has begun to prove, is the source of innumerous branches of knowledge; both social and scientific in nature. In order to preserve this tradition and culture the Kashi Annapurna Annakshetra Trust, Varanasi, has taken up the responsibility of promoting Vedic Education and adopted the Gurukul Brahmacharya Ashram, run by Kashi Annapurna Devi Temple. The school is situated at Shivpur, which falls under the Pancha Kosh yatra grounds, with its own 27 acres of spacious land with building spread over about 1000 sq feet plinth area. The school follows the prescribed syllabus of the Sampurnanda Sanskrit University, Varanasi.
225 poor students hailing from different parts of the country are presently being educated in the Vedas in the school. Modern education too is an integral part of the curriculum to enable the students to adapt to the changing face of the society. Inculcating noble moral values to develop the students into men of strong character, righteous behavior and responsible, dedicated citizens; is of prime concern at the Vedic School. The teachers are highly learned, experienced, dedicated and experts in their respective fields of knowledge, who impart the knowledge with compassion and love. Students are encouraged to participate in various competitive events along with other educational institutions and have performed well. The Trust looks forward to upgrade its educational system to research level and thus make Vedic education more effective in the future. Phone: 0542-2280066.
